Giles Wilkes
Senior Fellow Institute for Government
After a dozen years in the private sector (encylopaedia editing and spreadbetting) Giles Wilkes entered public policy as an intern and then Chief Economist at think tanks, before enjoying four years as a special adviser to Vince Cable under the Coalition. After a break of two years writing comment for the Financial Times, he rejoined government as a special adviser in Theresa May’s Downing Street, and ever since has split his time between Flint Global, a business advisory, and the Institute for Government. Over this time he has specialised in business and economic policy.
