Driving the Transition to the UK’s Net Zero Energy Future
The UK’s bold vision for a clean power system by 2030 is more than just a commitment—it’s a roadmap for national security, energy independence, and economic transformation. The Clean Power 2030 Summit, set to take place in September 2025, will gather the leading minds and decision-makers from across the energy ecosystem to explore the opportunities and challenges of delivering this ambitious target.
The challenge is immense but so is the opportunity: achieving 95% clean power by 2030 demands trebling offshore wind to between 43GW and 50GW, doubling onshore wind to 27GW, and tripling solar to 47GW. Battery storage must grow fivefold from 5GW in 2023 to 27GW, while long-duration storage must double to over 8GW. Grid infrastructure must expand at four times the speed of the past decade, with 1,000km of new onshore and 4,500km of offshore network lines.
Recent NESO data estimates the need for over £40 billion annually in clean energy infrastructure investment by 2030. Yet, the rewards are clear: a decoupling from volatile international gas prices, lower wholesale energy costs, and significant progress toward reducing the UK’s greenhouse gas emissions by 81% by 2035.

What to Expect at the Clean Power 2030 Summit
Insights from government leaders and the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) on the Clean Power agenda
Panels and presentations exploring utility-scale solar, wind, battery storage, collocated energy hubs, and green hydrogen
Meet key stakeholders, including large energy offtakers, to forge critical partnerships for clean power projects
Explore grid reform strategies to address the 200GW+ queue of projects awaiting connection, solutions to planning delays averaging over 21 months, and pathways for hybrid energy hubs that could boost renewable generation availability from 11-35% to 50%
With over 62% of the UK’s electricity already sourced from low-carbon generation, the next phase requires transformative approaches across every segment of the energy system. The Clean Power 2030 Summit will bring together infrastructure funds, developers, utilities, transmission and distribution companies, and financiers to collaborate on scaling renewable deployment, fostering innovation, and securing the investment needed to achieve this once-in-a-generation transition.
The Clean Power 2030 Summit is your opportunity to be at the forefront of the energy revolution. Let’s harness innovation, collaboration, and investment to transform the UK into a green energy superpower.
